AG ToDo – The To-Do List for People Who Just Write Stuff Down

AG ToDo scans a folder (or an entire directory) and finds all your todos—across multiple files—bringing them together in one simple interface. No need to change your workflow. Just write stuff down, save it, and forget about it. AG ToDo will remember for you.

Natural Language Date Processing

Write "by next Monday," and boom—AG ToDo sets the date for you. No need to punch in actual dates like a robot.

Find Anything, Instantly

Search across all your todos. If you wrote it down, AG ToDo will find it.

Priorities Matter

Some things in life are more important. Mark a todo as "important," and AG ToDo will make sure it stays at the top, staring at you until you finally do it.

Filter by All, Active, or Complete

Only care about what’s left to do? Click "Active" and move on with your life.

Light Mode, Dark Mode, System Mode

It’s 2025. Of course, it has a dark mode.

Instructions:

AG ToDo only works with .txt files (.md soon), so sit back and spin up Notepad or any other text editor and get writing.

You can do this in the app by clicking the checkbox or by writing it in your notes:

Remember:

It does not matter if the todo is buried in ten paragraphs of writing..it will be found.

Questions You Might Have:

Who uses Notepad anymore?

This one guy I know.. anyway, it can be any app you like that can save a .txt file. Notepad is ever present on Windows and loads in a flash.

You don't have to learn a new way of doing todos or worry about moving them out of notes and to another new todo app. These are your files.

Is there a Mac version?

Yes, but the file size exceeds what itch.io lets me upload. If you really want it, reach out.

Is this the final version?

Nope! This is my first desktop app, so take it as it is. I’ve got ideas for more features, and after that, it’s up to the comments section to guide the ship.

Does this work offline?

Yes. That’s literally all it does. No internet connection needed. No shady "calls home" or anything.

Will this work with a cloud folder?

Yes. Honestly I have no idea how.. but basically if you can click on the folder, then AG ToDo can find any todos in any of the .txt files it contains.

Are you tracking anything?

No. Nothing gets sent anywhere. This app is fully standalone—pushed adrift, left to float in the digital void.

Is this legit?

Well… I haven’t paid for a fancy code-signing certificate because those cost money, and I’m not sure anyone cares enough for me to bother. If that changes, maybe I’ll sign it. But for now, trust the vibes.
